Getting Into Medical School Workshop at UCL - 11-17-2007, 11:26 PM

RUMS (UCL Medical School) ISoc will be providing a workshop for potential medical Students on the Saturday 15th of December 2007. The workshop will cater for a wide range of prospective medical students, from those who are studying A-levels & GCSE to those undertaking a degree programme and wish to enter medicine through graduate entry schemes.

The workshop aims to advise and guide them through the rigorous medical school application process and enable them to brush up their interview technique, and will consist of the following highlights:

• Meet and get advice from students across all 5 London Medical Schools
• Learn more about the medical degree and the career path of a Doctor
• Advice on getting in, including the personal statement, work experience, BMAT and UKCAT
• Tips and advise for the med school interview
• Mock Medical School Interviews (priority will be given to A2 students who have applied this year) with immediate feedback
• Medical Practical Skills workshop
• Advice from postgraduate medics for graduate applicants

Our medical school workshop has proven to be successful in the past, with more students taking part each year. Our services have expanded from providing mock medical school interviews with feedback alone, to the vast range of interactive workshops we are offering today. This workshop is a student-led initiative, realising the need to help younger students make the leap from their current education to medicine.

The workshop is Open to students from ALL backgrounds and costs £5 for admission. The dress code is formal. The workshop will last from 9.20am - 4pm and will be situated in the UCL Medical School Cruciform Building.

To register for this event, you MUST visit Medical Interviewsto fill in an Online Application form. Students who have applied to universities this year should forward their personal statements via email with the Subject title 'Mock Interview’ to after completing the online registration form, so that this can be used for more realistic questions in the mock interview session. Students MUST also state their FULL NAME and Date of Birth on the personal statement for identification purposes.
