Bleeding time is usually used to test qualitative function of platelets.Its the measure of haemostasis (arrest of bleeding from bleeding vessel). Normal bleeding time is 3-10 min (depending on which textbook you read). Decrease in the bleeding time is observed in moderate preeclampsia and the increase is observed in severe preeclampsia. So, its not very useful determinant.
