ADH increases permeability of the collecting duct to water which results in an increase in plasma volume and a decrease in urine volume. ADH is a neuropeptide secreted from the posterior lobe of the pituitary, it has a direct effect on vascular smooth muscle resulting in vasoconstriction.

ADH and vasopressin are the only two produced from posterior pituitary. ADH is a nonapeptide not a polypeptide. Ref: page 290. Power & Kam

hi jijindr
probably you are correct, polypeptides have been defined in various ways- more consistent definition mentions-a peptide containing 10 to more than 100 amino acids. Vasopressin, being a chain of <10 amino acids is just a peptide, may be oligopeptide.
Thanks for your intrest in website.
GOOD LUCK.
