Although insulin and GH have antagonistic actions during stress response, they are mainly anabolic hormones in the body and act together in increasing protein anabolism and skeletal growth. They promote muscle growth by increasing glucose uptake in the muscle. GH causes lipolysis for the same effect also, hence antogonises insulin in that respect.
