Thyroid stimulating hormone is secreted in anterior pitutary gland, controls prodution of T3, T4 hormones by thyroid gland.
Its secertion is inhibited by T3,T4, stress,
stimulated by TRH(thyrotropin releasing hormone produced by hypothalamus) .
It is a glycoprotein.

TSH increases intracellular cAMP levels in the thyroid, thus increasing all secretory processes of the thyroid gland :-
iodine trapping;
iodination and coupling reactions to form T4 & T3; and
their release into circulation by proteolysis of thyroglobulin.
