b) is predominantly carried attached to globulin
c) 80% of the total body calcium is in the skeletal system
d) 8% of plasma calcium is complexed with citrate
e) ionized calcium increases in acidotic conditions

The normal intake of calcium is 1gram/day. 90% of total calcium is bound to the skeletal system giving structural support. In the plasma 50% is unionized and physiological free to act. The other 50 percent is ( 35% bound to albumin, 7 % to globulin and 8% complexed with citrate)
