Adrenal gland consists of 2 distinct zones-the outer cortex and the inner medulla.Cortex is divided into 3 zones-zona glomerulosa secreting aldosterone,zona fasciculate secreting glucocorticoids and zona reticularis secreting the sex hormones.The glucocorticoids produced are cortisol and corticosterone.The medullary hormones are epinephrine(90%)and norepinephrine (10%) . Dopamine is also secreted in the medulla of the adrenals.
