tttft
CVS-Reduced cardiac output-30% reduction at 30 degrees,J waves on ECG,ventricular arrythmias at 30degrees,VF at 28 degrees, vasoconstriction, vasodilation below 20 degrees, increased blood viscosity and hence increased hematocrit, thrombocytopenia.
RS-apnoea at 24 degrees, reduced tissue oxygen delivery, shift of ODC to left despite increased solubility of oxygen in blood, reduced oxygen demand and CO2 production.
CNS-confusion below 35degrees,unconsiousness below 30 degrees, reduced requirement for volatile agents, cessation of all electrical activity at 18degrees
Other-diuresis,reduced GFR by 50%
Metabolic and respiratory acidosis, increased blood glucose and potassium

At what temperature does hypothermia cause a coagulopathy? I appreciate an increased viscosity suggests increased coagulability but won't the thrombocytopenia cause a coagulopathy?
