ttfft
Oxygen can cause convulsions at above 2-3atm. Oxygen toxicity can cause endothelial damage with reduced mucus clearance and infiltration by inflammatory cells. Oxygen does not prevent dissolved N2 in blood to diffuse into the alveolus. N2 has a blood/gas solubility coefficient of 0.014. In decompression sickness, nitrogen bubbles may come out of solution following rapid passage from a high atmospheric pressure environment to one of lower atmospheric pressure. O2 therapy can cause absorption atelectasis.
